Living with a 1966 vintage car Old Car and Losing the Inheritance While Enjoying the Quiet Time
Posted by richard under classic cars, insurance, old cars

I've had too much fun to mention :).
Veronica and I have owned our 1966 vintage car now for I think three years. Overall we've been content with the car. The condo is in lower Michigan, near Dublin, unincorporated community, and we love touring in the car during the hotter months. Our opinion is I'd say it's a great vehicle for the money.
Ever since we bought the vintage car we've been on the road. My whole family made a weekend out of visiting my husband's brother in New Mexico several times with no problems whatsoever. The vintage car does great on gas and has not given us a lot problems in terms of maintenance.
The vintage car is in good condition, having been restored in the last two years. The previous owners seem to have taken it upon themselves to fix it up over the past 20 years. Our previous car, a Lincoln, had plenty of breakdowns and we weren't depressed to unload it.
It was made clear to me to get classic car insurance on the vehicle. For our allstate classic car insurance we went with a company called CHROME Specialty Car Insurance. We signed up for the policy completely online, using their excellent web site. We found the company by reviewing the information on classic cars. It's a cool place for finding the best offer on hot rod insurance. We insured the vintage car for 30% of what American Family Insurance wanted.
The old cars insurance was just in time because within a month of getting it we were involved in a horrible accident with a Bugatti. The accident totalled both cars. Our CHROME Specialty Car Insurance insurance agent contacted us and let us know the car would be covered! It was a relief because of our investment to the car.
The worth of the car has gone up a lot over the past 3 years to our surprise. It's hard to believe we paid $16,000 for the car back in 1997. Now it's worth at least $60,000! We've been offered this much several times this year. My wife is very excited!
Now is the time to find a car you enjoy! Go out and don't hesitate, there's a world of good condition vintage cars out there. Buy a vintage car now before the price goes up! You won't regret it.
